Welcome to Summer Reading!

The Summer Reading Program is winding down and we've had amazing participation! But don't worry, the books aren't going anywhere, so keep reading!

Public libraries throughout Carteret County are gearing up for an anticipated outburst of “creativity” this summer.  Join the 2014 Summer Reading Program, “Spark a Reaction” and cultivate a love of science and reading!  All events are free of charge and open to the public.  There will be weekly programs in June through July.  Families with younger children are invited to participate in the Read-to-Me portion of the program by either reading to them or allowing the children to read to others.  The program is open to adults, teens, juveniles, elementary school and pre-k-aged children.  There is a wide variety of programs for everyone during the day, at night, and on Saturdays.

Use the right-hand menu or tabs at the top of the page to find programs near you

If you are unable to attend programs, we invite you to participate in the at-home reading program by registering, completing reading logs, and returning them to the library for prizes.
